Description

A massive flow of the Northern Lights moving slowly in it`s giant line above the coast of Bodø in Norway, my hometown ;)
Flowing from North East to South West, and so direct west, you can see where it turns to west ;)

Shot from Løpsmarka in Bodø, Norway :D
5-11 / 2011 at 00:32 PM, 7*C.

This kind of formation was not that lit up like other active display`s on the sky. It was more intence and the light was flickering.
And it also looked like it was flowing like a river does ! The movement was slow and the shapes of the columns and lines formed quite straight cut lines !

It was visible during the whole shoot when we was at that parking shooting more active shots above the Landegode Island :

This picture is shot 15* to the left of the Landegode Island picture.
I guess the Auroras are 50-100 kilometers wide here !

Have a nice week everyone !

A very lovely aurora picture! The tail of way the aurora begins in the distance and draws a line for the eye to follow from the distance to the foreground which lends movement to the scene. The stars in the sky are nicely captured which also gives the piece some nice texture and also makes the aurora pop. I like the vivid colors and the reflection in the water which also draws the eye upward to the aurora. The piece is nicely framed, and keeps the viewer looking. The only thing I would say that was a negative is the lights on the left hand side are a bit distracting because they are so bright. But that is just nit picking. Overall this is a fantastic and beautiful piece. Well done!
